Children and young people enjoy the world’s largest imaginations–a powerful resource. This course will look to nourish their imaginative creativity through story-telling and poetry. Students will learn how to build their own stories and poems, and, at the same time, to express themselves in lively and beautiful ways. The class will emphasize a multitude of verbal skills-building lessons with a constructive approach aimed at facilitating not only their abilities but also their happy confidence

Dr. David Ruiter, Associate Professor of English, has taught at UTEP since 1998. Ruiter’s primary teaching and research interests include Shakespeare and Early Modern Studies.
